Secret Stash is no stranger to unique and quirky concepts. Founder, Nazish Hussain, along with her young and capable team has always developed interesting commerce ideas and implemented them with aplomb. This season, they hosted a charity sale for new and gently used branded clothes for women on August 31st, 2019 at The Patio Restaurant in Karachi. 100% of the funds raised were given to Kashana-e-Atfal-o-Naunihal, a charitable organization that provides a range of services from housing, education, health services and more for orphaned and homeless girls.
As Nazish tells us, “I wanted to do something for charity and since I normally don’t sell clothes, this pop-event charity event focused exclusively on donated clothes. We all have items we don’t wear anymore and often it’s a lot harder to donate them. Every item was priced at Rs. 1,000 ensuring people could come and find great deals. We collected over 500 pieces and most were in mint condition – hardly used and with many even being brand new. And in just a few hours we sold almost half and plan to put the remaining pieces online. ”
And that’s the amazing part – we witnessed first hand the mad rush of women thronging to get their hands on the clothes. The fact that these proceeds were all donated to such a worthy cause is both heartening and commendable.
“The event was a success beyond my expectations,” explains Nazish. “The turnout was amazing and we managed to raise quite a bit for this fantastic organization.”
Kudos! Here’s hoping more organizations follow suit in this amazing trend.
